Now I know you better…

This a.m. I read Tim Dickinson’s article over at Rolling Stone, The GOP’s Crackpot Agenda. It’s worth a read, though there are hardly any surprises. It is pretty much a catalog of the far-right proposals and values espoused by the 2012 GOP nominees.

But while I was reading it, and thinking about the continued change of front-runners in the polls, I was reminded of a song whose chorus could serve as the theme song of Republican Primary voters. It is Better, by Guns ‘n Roses, which is from Chinese Democracy, that wonderful Unicorn that is not as bad as people hoped it would be, but contains no Mr. Browntones or Night Trains, alas.

In Axl’s scream from Better is the very real danger for the Republican Party in next year’s election.

“Now I know you better, you know, I know better, now I know you better.”
