Cain Suspends Campaign, TRC rejoices
Herman Cain’s decision to suspend his campaign is commended by TRC. Because Herman Cain would have made a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad president. For starters, he doesn’t seem interested in anything that is not related to business or evangelical Christianity. Those two things are fine, but they are not enough to make one a successful, or even moderately poor president. One must know about, or show interest in learning about, many things. Like civics, policy, foreign affairs, human social interaction, political maneuvering, history, etc. His isolation from the world of government and policy and history and international affairs wreaked of incompetence and unpresidential material.
(This general disdain for Hermain Cain, I think it is worth noting, has nothing to do with his entanglement with sexual harassment and affair allegations. I don’t know if they are true or not true, and the reality that Cain would be an awful president doesn’t depend on their veracity. For what it is worth.)
So, with joy and wonder to match the Holiday Season, TRC greets these tidings of great joy by raising his rum and nog (for real). It was a good weekend, and enjoyed just a little more, knowing the the Cain Train has officially stalled.
